Cylindrical Grinding Services at Industrial Grinding
Our extensive cylindrical grinding capabilities enable us to repair, retrofit and service machine components, as well as handle limited volume production jobs. Through finish grinding, taper grinding, wet grinding, angle grinding, and high speed grinding, we can fine-tune your cylindrical components back to factory specifications. Aluminum, cast iron, ceramic, chromium carbide, tool steels, and stainless series are typical base materials we grind.
We also specialize in precision grinding non-metallic materials such as nylon, polypropylene, rubber, and ceramics. Industrial Grinding utilizes horizontal and universal grinding machines to process a range of machine components such as gears, pistons, shafts, rods, spindles, and tooling/fixtures that measure up to 34" in outer diameter and 169" in length. Our skilled staff will grind parts in accordance with your custom specifications, while maintaining tolerances close to 0.0001".
We provide high-performance grinding services for almost any industry with a moving part, in need of repair. These industries include aerospace, agriculture, automotive, chemical, defense, electrical, printing, refineries, food manufacturing and processing, and machine tool rebuild.

Vertical Grinding Services at Industrial Grinding Inc.
Our plant has an extensive range of small as well as large vertical grinders for finishing cylindrical parts such as gears, spindles, wheels, and through bores. These machines enable us to grind internal and inside diameters, outside diameters, and faces of custom fabricated work pieces. While our large vertical grinder can process work pieces with outer diameters up to 67", our smallest vertical grinder can grind parts with a minimum inner diameter of 1 1/2".
With our vertical grinding machines, we perform fine and finish grinding, high speed grinding, and precision grinding operations on parts in accordance with your custom specifications. Typical substrates that we process include a variety of tool steels such as 4140 and D2, stainless steels, chrome plated surfaces, lead, nickel, and silver.
Depending on specific material type and intended application, precision-ground components can be manufactured with surface finishes up to 16 micro finishes. Our vertical grinding machines can finish parts with a concentricity of 0.0002", while holding tolerances approaching 0.0002".

Surface & Blanchard Grinding Services
We specialize in surface grinding components such as die sets, bolster plates, lathe beds, fixture plates, and shear blades. Industrial Grinding Inc. repairs, retrofits, and services these machine parts through Blanchard grinding, surface grinding, fine grinding, regrinding, or sharpening. Aluminum, gold, nickel, magnetic steel, and non-metallic materials such as graphite are some of the substrates that we process.
Our surface grinding processes will restore your components back to original OEM dimensions. Depending on the type of material, precision-ground parts can be produced with a surface finish of up to 16 micro finish. At our fully equipped grinding plant, we grind angles, radii, and flats on custom components as well as refurbish lathe beds to original factory specifications.
Industrial Grinding Inc.'s Okamota surface grinder can process parts up to 160" in length, 60" in width, and 29.5" in height. All of our machines are used for special repair and maintenance projects.

Metallizing Services
At our fully equipped metallizing plant, we offer general-purpose repair as well as maintenance services to customers in any industry with a moving part. Some of these industries include aerospace, automotive, chemical, electrical, mining, printing, food manufacturing and processing, and machine rebuild. Industrial Grinding enhances heat and wear resistance of machine parts with both plasma arc and low-heat thermal flame spraying.
We use a wide range of wire and powder coatings, including 300/400 series stainless, nickel, chromium carbides, and non-ferrous materials for distinct metallizing applications. Our complete line of metallizing machines includes plasma systems, powder spray units, and a blaster unit. These thermal and plasma spraying units enable us to repair worn and damaged diameters on shafts, pistons, gears and rolls. We also repair mold plates, large pipe fittings, lathe beds, and other flat surfaces. Often, repairs made with plasma and thermal spray make a part better than when it was new.
Our staff is experienced in metallizing components up to 150" in length, 50" in width, and 6' in height. Industrial Grinding also handles cylindrical parts with diameters up to 40". Custom machine parts can also be serviced through our secondary processes such as rough grinding, spraying, and finish grinding.
